Purchasing a Home

The purchase of property, whether a residence, vacation home, or investment property, is one of the largest financial commitments most individuals will ever make.  It is also often one of the most stressful times in your life.

There are deadlines and risks, and you are trying to deal with these at the same time that you are packing your belongings and maintaining your job and family responsibilities.

Our goal is to simplify and streamline the process. Our lawyers and staff take care of many of the details in order to free you to focus on other important decisions and priorities.

In addition to reviewing and explaining the contract of purchase and the mortgage commitment papers to you, any or all of the following things have to be considered.  We will guide you in finding necessary inspectors to:

–          examine the home and the property to determine whether the house is safe and habitable, the roof and the basement are free from leaks, and that all essential systems work.

–          make sure the septic system works

–          make sure the well water is potable

–          take steps to determine whether there are underground fuel tanks and other possible sources of pollution.

We determine that the title to the property is good and help to deal with disputes which may arise with the seller.

Most importantly, our firm has done this countless times and we know what to expect and how to protect you. We answer your questions. Our firm will be there for you every step of the way as needed.
